Our Story: From Hotel Operations to Coastal Innovation
Our roots lie in empathy and a deep understanding of the tourism sector. Félix Navarrete, our Founder and current Chief Operating Officer, built an extensive career within the hotel industry. From the front lines, he witnessed firsthand how the massive influx of sargassum seaweed became an urgent crisis that threatened not only the aesthetics of the beaches but also the operational viability of resorts and the health of the coastal ecosystem.
Félix understood that the industry needed a solution that went beyond simply “hiding” the problem. It needed a thoughtful, professional, and, above all, sustainable strategy.
With this vision, he connected with Carbonwave, global pioneers in sargassum processing for the creation of advanced biomaterials (such as Sarga Agriscience’s agricultural biostimulants). From this powerful alliance, Grupo Ensol Caribe was born, establishing itself as the specialized operational arm and undisputed strategic partner for beach cleanup, mechanized collection, installation of containment barriers, and the proper disposal of marine biomass. We ensure the sargassum is removed from the water cleanly, and our partners take care of giving it a new life.
We have been operating successfully for over five years, consolidating our leadership primarily in the Mexican Caribbean (from Costa Mujeres to Tulum). During this time, we have perfected our containment and collection protocols to cope with even the most aggressive sargassum arrival seasons. However, as our name suggests, our vision encompasses the entire region. Sargassum is a shared challenge, and for this reason, we have begun our international expansion. Today, Grupo Ensol Caribe already has working groups, collaborations, and strategic alliances with governments and institutions in the Dominican Republic and other Caribbean entities, exporting our successful model to protect the coasts of all of Latin America.
Our results reflect our experience and commitment to the effective management of sargassum and beach cleanup in Quintana Roo. Through consistent operations and reliable solutions
Advanced technology and state-of-the-art barriers don't work on their own; they require expert hands and dedicated hearts. Our team of operators, technicians, engineers, and field personnel are the true driving force behind Grupo Ensol. They are the ones who enter the water at dawn, who operate our heavy machinery with surgical precision to avoid damaging the white sand, and who ensure that our clients' hotel operations never stop. We have a trained and disciplined staff, capable of executing complex maneuvers and emergency protocols, such as protecting infrastructure in the event of hurricanes.
